New Job...Same place
Hello all. Sorry I haven't been keeping to my blogging ways, but I hope to be back on the blogging scene more now. I will be starting a new job next week at Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon. I will be the Youth Director there and I will also be working with the youth at Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church. I truly feel that the last few months of frustrations between different jobs have been preparing me for this new opportunity. I can look back and see that God provided me with jobs to sustain me until this position became available. I am excited to let my creative juices flow as I will be able to give talks, plan events, and do other creative things that come with job. Another great thing about the job is that our current apartment is in a perfect location for this job and Jess' job too. I will only be 10 minutes from my church and Jess is stil about 15 minutes from her church. Yet another thing that has made me feel confident that this is God ordained. I look forward to starting at the Church in the next few weeks. Once again, I hope to be blogging again soon.

congrats on the new job nolan! that's really exciting, and i'm very glad for you guys. it's crazy thinking about our interning days, it feels so long ago.
ReplyDeletelife is going pretty well here in indiana. year 2 at IWU has been amazing. Debo loves RDing, our staff is wonderful, and our building of boys are both funny and endearing (and at times crazy). IWU hired 10 new RDs this past year, which has been a major blessing. our first year most of the RDs were older, IWU grads, and had been here for at least 4 years. now we have fresh new crew of a lot of people our age, and mostly married couples (which is a change from last year). its so nice having a community of people are age to hang out with, because although we love our students and spend a ton of time w/ them, you still need friends outside of that. i currently nanny. i have 5 different kids that i watch regularly, 9-5 kinda thing, 5 days a week. it's really flexible, and i love my kiddos (youngest is 14 months, oldest is 4). it works for me right now.
debo is thinking about starting the higher ed grad program at geneva (via institutes). other than that, not much is really new. married life is going well. it's going fast too. already a 1 1/2 years, 2 in june. i can't believe we have been out of school for over a year. life goes fast!
how are you guys doing? i look forward to reading more of your experiences on your blog! good luck with everything! (sorry this msg is so long)
peace & love,
Laur
